With no added flavors or preservatives, our Durum Wheat roti is made only from Durum Wheat flour, corn oil, and water. Durum wheat is essentially white flour, however it is not as finely ground as Maida (All Purpose Flour). Due to its slightly higher protein, and slightly higher gluten content, durum wheat is known to be elastic when kneaded into a dough, which means that our Durum Wheat roti is a little bit thicker than our Whole Wheat and Multigrain roti. Typically, Durum Wheat is used to make another renowned type of Indian bread- Naan! However, Naan is often made with ghee and yogurt, which is not the most healthy option for daily consumption. Thankfully, our Rotikaa brand Durum Wheat roti is a great everyday alternative made with only corn oil, which has no cholesterol, but is just as tasty as naan!
